1. Find A Quiet Place.

In my studies of the life of the Lord Jesus, I noticed that when he spent time in prayer, he often would depart into a mountain away from everyone. In following His example, I think it wise to do the same. We must be free from distraction and hurry if we are to study the Word of God effectively. Torn off the TV, the phone, and depart into a place free of distraction and hurry.

​2. Ask the Lord for Understanding Before You Study.

​The Bible is the only book in the world that when you read it, the author reads it with you. He wrote the book, and he can help you understand it. Take a moment, and with a humble heart, ask The Lord to show you something from the Bible that will help you be a better Christian. Remember that the study of the Bible is not just an academic practice, but a spiritual exercise. We do not study the Bible for mere academic information, but for a spiritual transformation.
