My Life With Diabetes Type II

anthony.jpg

My name is Anthony and in April 2006 I was sick fat and dying. I needed help and fast. I was over weight at about 130 KG or 286.6 Lbs. I suffered from depression and was sucidal and also suffered from (COPD) Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, is a common lung disease causing restricted airflow and breathing problems. It is sometimes called emphysema or chronic bronchitis.

I have diabetes type 2 along with high blood pressure and have had problems with health over the past ten years to the point where death was knocking on my door.

As for my diabetes type two I was taking Ardix-Glicazide Tab 60MG Diamicron 60 MG x 2, Diaformin XR Metformin 1000 MG x 2, Byetta Pen 10 MCG x 2. Now I am not taking the Ardix-Glicazide Tab 60MG Diamicron 60 MG x 2, and still taking the Metformin and the Byetta Pen.

My Doctor took me off my Diamicron Blood Sugar Medicine and is cutting my Blood Pressure Medicine by half. Sevikar from 40 MG/ 5 mg/ 12.5 mg to 20mg/ 5 mg/ 12.5 mg. I have also stopped taking my Zoton. So now I only take my Metformin RX 1,000 MG and my Byetta 10 MCG each day.

In 2007, with my COPD, I would go to a friends farm to look after the place from time to time, feeding the chooks, ducks, pig, ferrits and dog and cats. I would walk about a quarter of a mile down hill to feed the chooks, ducks and pig, and when I got there I would have to have a rest before feeding the animals. When I walked back up the hill I would have to stop half way and take a break to catch my breath and I had pain down the middle of my chest, I was breathing heavy and when I got back to the house it would take me five minutes to catch my breath and stop breathing heavy. I was in bad shape.

October 2017 I decided I was going to regain my health, my well being and get my life back on track.

My health is improving every day, I am not doing any special exercise routine to loose weight and I also started a special diet.

It was as easy as they said it would be and if I can do it, I believe you can do it as well.

It's about life and living healthy, Living Well You only get one chance.

I Might Be Retired From Work, But I Sure ain't Retired From Life!

My love for helping other people is all I want to do from now on. My Volunteer Work.

I started doing "Volunteer Work" in 2006 as I needed help because I was on a low income and suffered from Depression and suicidal thoughts. I was not working and had become unemployable. My life started to go on a downward spiral in 2000 when I was living in Ayr North Queensland. I started to become depressed and was starting to loose my health. I am a baker by trade and worked in bakeries for sixteen years.

I now live in Albury after moving here in early 2006 and started doing some volunteer work in the local community, I am still doing volunteer work to help our senior citizens today. I have been volunteering now for 19 years.

My volunteer work started in Albury at the Food Bank which was in Smollett Street in the old Jenny Craig building. I started working part time for Woodstock, doing some gardening and driving the bus or car to take people to the shops or doctors. I then started working for aged concern in Townsend Street Albury as a runner on the bus when we picked up people for daily activities for people over 55. I also worked in the kitchen helping to prepare food for the Ladies and Gents.

I then started working for UPA Murray River Region Aged Care as a computer tutor in Lavington and at Park Hall Retirement Village. I was also driving the shopping car and sometimes the small bus. I stopped doing the computer tutor work and started driving the small shopping bus for Park Hall Village in 2010 and am still driving the shopping bus today. UPA bought a new bus and I love my volunteer work.

Volunteering is contribution of time, effort and talent to a need, cause or mission without financial gain. Volunteering is all about you being able to contribute some of your own time to help people in our communities.

The aspect of voluntariness is essential and distinguishes it from other forms of work.

I "Recommend Volunteer Work" for people who are lonely and depressed.

Thank you, Anthony Wayne Daniell.

{ Three simple rules in life }

1. If you do not GO after what

you want, you’ll never have it.

2. If you do not ASK, the answer

will always be NO.

3. If you do not step forward,

you’ll always be in the same place.
